Buying
We are active purchasers of Stamps, Postal History, Coins, Banknotes and other collectables. We can purchase any type of stamp or coin collection with a marketable value of over $50.00 from a small general world collection to individual rarities worth $10,000.00 or more.
Of particular interest are good quality early Australian and Australian States stamp collections, MUH, MLH and fine used, particularly specialised collections with varieties, monograms, imprint blocks and errors, fine collections of South Australia, Missing colours and imperforate errors, Postal History including Pre-Stamp items, War Time correspondence, Covers with instructional markings, Postmarks particularly South Australian, Postal Stationery, earlier Postcards, First Day Covers especially earlier items, First Flight Covers, scarcer Cinderella items, Good single country collections of any country, British Commonwealth, Asian, European and General World collections.
We are interested in purchasing virtually all coins and banknotes, particularly Sovereigns, higher grade Pre-Decimal coinage, Pre-Decimal banknotes, Star notes, Decimal Proof and Uncirculated sets as well as the more mundane such as bulk pennies, 1966 round 50c pieces and foreign coin accumulations.
We can purchase your entire stamp or coin collection, not just the best items. Less prestigious items that we are interested in purchasing include bulk modern Australian stamps MUH (commonly termed in the trade discount postage), Year Albums and bulk common used Australian or Foreign stamps on or off paper.
We can do any valuations in your presence. Initially it is normal for us to do an appraisal on a collection, which is a quick look through a collection to give some idea of its likely approximate market value. If the client agrees it is worth proceeding with further, we can do a full and accurate valuation. Unlike some other dealers, there is no charge or obligation for doing this. When we do a valuation we can normally give an indication of what the collection would be likely to realise through our Postal Internet Auctions, as well as placing our competitive outright purchase price on the collection.
All valuations are done by our Directors, Steve Meharry or Steve Waterman, each of whom have over 30 years full time Stamp Dealing experience. You can be confident your collection will be valued accurately and that even obscure scarcer items will be correctly assessed.
Our extensive International clientele means we have a constant need for good quality stamp and coin collections and we are able to market them to maximise our returns. Experience shows that our buying prices are very competitive, and as our valuations are free of charge and obligation, we encourage clients to seek second or third opinions. Rarely do customers not return to us to either sell their collection outright or through our Postal Internet Auctions.
Valuations for collections can be done in your presence while you wait, if arranged by prior appointment, or we can issue a receipt for your collection and contact you when the valuation is completed. We can travel to value larger and more valuable collections.
